Instaling IceCream Ebook Reader 6.37 Pro3/11/2024 You can access all the added books by clicking the “Library” button in the upper left corner of the main window.Īll the books that present in the Library can be displayed in a form of a chart or a book shelf with books' covers thumbnails – click the icon right above of the working area to select a desired view (Table view or Bookshelf). Icecream Ebook Reader supports drag and drop mechanism, so you can just drag and drop the ebooks into the program's window to add the files to the Library. Right next to this button there's a “Add folder” button that helps to add whole folders with ebooks to the program's Library. You can also use the “Add book” button in the upper left corner of the program's window. Windows Explorer will be opened, and you can browse your hard drive to find previously downloaded book. And it would also be nice if you perhaps preferred a different external reader (such as summatra for PDF) for one that it actually does support.Īll in all a good program, well worth the download and use as long as you understand its functions and limitations.Click the “Add book to your library to start reading” button under the program’s logo. This program would be improved if it could index types of ebooks it does not know how to display and then let you configure an external reader to launch for those other types (such as CBR comics, or djvu ebooks). Its Library portion is rather more limited in field content than Calibre nor can it read metadata from the internet or add/modify covers as Calibre does. It does read PDF files but is very sluggish turning pages and this is on a I7 with a fast video card. Can read epub, mobi, and pdf.Ĭan adjust font typeface, type size, line spacing and screen colors.ĭoes not read books in kindle azw3, djvu, rtf, doc or CBR files. Remembers where you are in each book/magazine. (Check into sumatraPDF for a fast free PDF reader). And you'd need a better PDF reader unless the Icecream folks work on optimizing their PDF code. Though you'd still want Calibre around for ebook conversions between types. For those who have not converted their library to Calibre I think this Icecream reader/library would be much easier to import and use as it does not recopy all the files into its own structure (as Calibre does).
